Microneedling Services in Calgary
Promote skin repair and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scarring, stretch marks and other signs of aging with Dermaroller® Micro-needling Collagen Induction Therapy. Dermaroller® is licensed by Health Canada. When it comes to minimally invasive treatments, Micro-needling Collagen Induction therapy with the Dermaroller® is clinically proven and is perhaps the most successful treatment available for the common signs of aging such as wrinkles, loss of skin volume, and crepey skin. In addition, we have great success in reducing scarring, acne scarring and stretch marks with microneedling. Dermaroller® therapy triggers the body’s spontaneous healing process, stimulating cell proliferation and causing the formation of new collagen which contributes to smooth, firm skin.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedles are applied into the skin layers by motor power that moves a needle module up and down with a high frequency. The needle length is adjusted according to the indication and treatment area. The needles typically range from 0.5 to 2.5 millimeters in diameter and are used to promote collagen induction and rejuvenate the skin. The needles penetrate the surface levels of the skin and are used to boost collagen, reduce texture and scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, and promote new, healthy skin cell proliferation. Microneedling has been used for decades to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and texture.
What Does The Procedure Look Like?
The entire microneedling process includes the application of numbing cream, and a Dermaroller® device, which holds the actual microneedles and post-treatment products for hydration and healing.
The procedure begins by applying a numbing agent on the skin to make the procedure very comfortable.
After the numbing agent is applied, we clean the skin and then use the Dermaroller® to create minimally invasive micro-injuries to the skin. The Dermaroller® is made specifically to cause no open wounds, only micro-punctures to trigger healing within the epidermis and dermis. This healing leads to the production of collagen and other growth-promoting properties. After the treatment, we apply a hydrating and soothing mask, along with post-procedure skincare.
In addition, we use collagen-stimulating products such as hyaluronic acid gel or PRP, during the procedure to further spark new, healthy skin growth.
What To Expect After The Procedure
After the procedure, you may have some redness, slight irritation, and swelling for 12 to 48 hours after the procedure. Many patients compare the feeling to a mild sunburn. Our clinic will provide post-treatment recommendations that include product suggestions to help hydrate and heal the skin, and when to use sun protection.
In the weeks and months following the procedure, your skin will become brighter, smoother, and more radiant. In our clinic, we typically recommend 3 – 6 microneedling treatments done every 6 – 8 weeks for the best results. We may recommend Laser Genesis with microneedling to further reduce texture, redness, and scarring. Your microneedling regimen is designed based on your goals, skin concerns and skin health to help you achieve exceptional results.
How Dermaroller® Is Different
In a sea of poor copies and imitations, the Dermaroller® is the real deal. The Dermaroller® is licensed by Health Canada and meets all standards for medical-grade equipment. The Dermaroller® is specifically designed with high-quality steel cone-shaped needles, which make micro-wounds that heal quickly. Imitations often use blade-shaped needles that traumatize the skin and potentially the nerves.
The Dermaroller® also sets itself apart from other products by having the optimal needle count, which is key to an effective, safe, and comfortable experience. Too many needles will need too much pressure, leading to an uncomfortable, more dangerous experience.
When it comes to microneedling, nothing compares to Dermaroller® Micro-needling Collagen Induction Therapy!
